Pail of epoxy zinc-rich industrial anti-corrosion primer
Anti-Corrosion Coatings
Epoxy Zinc-Rich Industrial Anti-Corrosion Primer
A two-component, matt-grey zinc-rich epoxy primer for prepared steel structures, containers, pipes and industrial metalwork. Select a zinc-content grade and build a compatible coating system for the intended corrosive environment.
- Base : hardener
- 10 : 1 by weight
- Shelf life
- 12 months in sealed storage
Surfaces & applications
Steel structures and sections; industrial containers; tanks and pipework; fabricated metal equipment
A foundation for steel protection
Use the primer as the first layer of a compatible industrial corrosion-protection system. It suits fabricated steel, structural sections, pipework and containers where surface preparation and complete coverage are central to performance. Pair it with a compatible intermediate coat or topcoat for the required exposure.

Choose the zinc-content grade
30%, 50% and 70% variants are available. The selected grade should match the project specification and the rest of the coating system. The finish is matt grey; it is a primer rather than a decorative colour-matched topcoat.
Two components in measured kits
The 4.4 kg kit contains 4 kg base and 0.4 kg hardener; the 22 kg kit contains 20 kg base and 2 kg hardener. Maintain the 10:1 weight ratio when dividing a kit. Mix only the quantity that can be applied and use compatible thinner after the base and hardener have been mixed.
Coverage and coat build
The reference coverage is approximately 5 m²/kg for one coat. Rough steel, complex shapes, application losses and increased film thickness reduce practical coverage. Apply two even coats where specified and pay attention to welds, edges and difficult-to-reach features.
Application environment
Apply to a dry, prepared substrate above 3°C and avoid rain or fog during coating work. Remove rust, loose material, grease and contamination before application. Keep the coating protected during the early drying period; full hardening takes approximately 3–7 days under suitable conditions.

Application process
Build the right protection system
- 01
Prepare steel
Remove rust, oil, loose coatings and dust to the preparation level required by the coating system.
- 02
Mix 10:1
Stir the base thoroughly, then combine with hardener at 10:1 by weight. Adjust with compatible thinner for the application method.
- 03
Apply evenly
Brush or spray an even coat, including edges and welds. Use the specified coat count and allow approximately 3 hours between primer coats.
- 04
Dry and overcoat
Protect the fresh film from moisture and contamination. Apply compatible subsequent coats according to the complete system requirements.

Frequently asked questions
Is this the final decorative finish?
It is a matt-grey anti-corrosion primer. Choose a compatible finish coat when colour, gloss or the exposure specification requires one.
What is the mixing ratio?
Mix base and hardener at 10:1 by weight. Both standard kit sizes follow this ratio.
Which zinc grade should I order?
Choose the 30%, 50% or 70% grade according to the coating specification, exposure and compatible topcoat system.
