Surfaces & applications

Decorative wall colour separation; artwork; suitable automotive finishing; tile-joint masking; temporary layout marking

Lighter adhesion for decorative work

Low-tack adhesive helps reduce the force required to remove the mask from a suitable finished surface. Typical applications include latex-painted walls, decorative wall finishes and multi-colour artwork. The underlying coating must be sound and adequately cured before tape is applied.

Create a defined paint boundary

Place the tape along the planned colour boundary and press the edge evenly. The paper mask helps control paint spread when used with a suitable coating technique. Avoid heavy wet build-up at the edge and trial the paint-and-tape combination before committing to a visible finished area.

Washi paper that tears and takes marking

The backing can be torn by hand and written on, making it useful for temporary labels or layout notes during decorating. Green, blue and purple options help distinguish masked zones. Select the width to match the line detail or protected area.

Walls, artwork and finishing tasks

The application range includes suitable latex-painted and decorative walls, art projects, automotive colour separation and tile-joint finishing. Fragile, powdery or poorly bonded surfaces can still be damaged by tape; test the complete application and removal sequence on an inconspicuous area.

Custom widths and careful removal

Widths from 0.8 to 120 cm can be supplied to suit detailed lines or broader masking. Remove steadily at a low angle using the timing appropriate to the paint system. Low tack supports gentle removal, but it does not guarantee that a weak underlying finish will remain intact.

Application process

Match the process to the finish

  1. 01

    Check the finish

Confirm that the surface is clean, dry, sound and adequately cured. Test adhesion and removal in a concealed area.

  2. 02

    Lay out the boundary

Apply without stretching and press the paint edge evenly. Use the appropriate width for the detail.

  3. 03

    Paint with control

Apply paint without flooding the taped edge. Keep the mask in place only as required by the finishing process.

  4. 04

    Peel steadily

Remove at a low angle according to the paint system’s timing. Stop and inspect if the underlying finish begins to lift.

Practical answers

Frequently asked questions

Can it be used on newly painted walls?

Only after the underlying paint has cured sufficiently for masking, and after a small removal trial. Low tack alone cannot protect an uncured or poorly bonded finish.

What is the width range?

The current product specification gives 0.8–120 cm, with custom widths available.

Can I write on the tape?

Yes. The washi-paper backing is writable and can also be torn by hand.
