Approve the appearance on the real substrate
Colour, basecoat, texture and lighting affect a decorative result. Use a representative sample for approval. Gold leaf effect paint creates a painted visual effect; it is not a sheet of genuine gold leaf.
Check compatibility and handling
A hydrophobic craft treatment can change surface feel or appearance. Assess adhesion, clarity and the conditions of display or handling. Keep the application process consistent with the selected product and substrate.

Choose the visual or functional finish
Gold leaf effect paint provides a decorative gold appearance. Superhydrophobic craft spray provides a water- and oil-repellent surface effect on compatible objects. Select one product for its intended role and test separately if a project proposes a combination. Compatibility between layers should be established on a representative sample before coating a finished artwork or production batch.
Prepare a gold-effect approval sample
Use the intended wood, plaster or metal, with the same undercoat, texture and application method as the finished piece. Clean and dry the surface and remove rust from metal. Stir the water-based paint and apply by brush or roller as appropriate. Review the dried sample in the display lighting and check relief, edges and broad areas for consistency.
Apply craft spray in light coats
Shake the 100 ml spray for 1–2 minutes and apply from 15–20 cm. Use two or three light coats with 30–60 seconds between coats, then allow the selected 60-minute drying period at room temperature. Check old paint and soft plastics before broad use; elastic rubber is not recommended. Keep the spray pattern even so the treatment does not leave concentrated patches.
Plan handling and batch supply
Test colour, gloss, adhesion and surface feel after curing, then include the expected handling and cleaning routine. A display ornament and a frequently handled object may need different acceptance criteria. Provide substrate, reference appearance, indoor or outdoor use, coated area and pack preference. For OEM or distributor orders, include label needs and the expected repeat quantity in the same enquiry.
Application Questions
Can craft spray be applied over gold-effect paint?
Treat the combination as a separate compatibility trial. Check the cured gold finish for colour, gloss, adhesion and response to the spray before using the combination on finished work.
How do I approve a batch appearance?
Use the same substrate, undercoat, application pattern and display lighting. Keep the accepted sample available when checking the production batch.
