Clear bottle of tile surface coating
Hydrophobic Coatings
Anti-Slip Hydrophobic Coating for Tiles
A water-based tile treatment intended for evaluating water repellency and slip-resistance improvement on compatible ceramic surfaces. The thin coating is used where the original tile colour and pattern remain part of the design.

Surfaces & applications
Selected indoor and outdoor ceramic tile surfaces, including renovation and maintenance projects.
A treatment for compatible tile surfaces
The coating is used on compatible ceramic tile surfaces where water repellency and easier maintenance are required. It can be considered for indoor and outdoor floor or wall applications after the tile finish and exposure have been assessed. Glazed, polished and textured tiles behave differently: a representative trial should include both the tile face and the adjacent joints, with appearance checked in normal and side lighting.

Clean the complete area before application
Remove grease, cleaning-product residue, scale and mildew, including contamination in the joints. Rinse away cleaning residues and allow the area to dry. Apply between 5°C and 35°C, with protection from rain, strong direct sunlight, condensation and dust. Work in manageable areas so the residual material can be removed at the specified time without leaving visible boundaries.
Apply thinly and remove residual material
The product is supplied ready to use. Brush, roll or wipe a thin, continuous layer that wets the surface evenly without pooling. After approximately 30 minutes, wipe away residual material with a clean, lint-free cloth. Allow 24 hours of natural ventilation and keep the area closed to traffic, water and mopping. Cold or humid conditions require more time. Inspect for an even clear finish without whitening, runs or peeling before reopening.

Water repellency and slip performance
The listed water contact angle is 110°. Use the project's specified slip test on the actual treated tile to establish floor suitability. Include the expected wet condition, footwear, contaminants, cleaning and wear; water beading alone cannot determine whether a floor is safe to use.
Maintenance and local renewal
Clean with a routine compatible with the treated finish and inspect worn areas over time. Before local renewal, clean and fully dry the affected area, then trial the overlap for appearance and adhesion. Keep unused product sealed, cool and protected from frost and direct sunlight. Wash tools with water promptly before the coating dries.

Application process
From surface preparation to performance
- 01
Clean
Remove oil, scale, mildew and cleaning residues from tiles and joints.
- 02
Dry and apply
Work at 5–35°C and apply a thin, even ready-to-use layer.
- 03
Wipe
After about 30 minutes, remove residual material with a lint-free cloth.
- 04
Cure
Allow at least 24 hours with natural ventilation and no water or traffic.
- 05
Inspect
Check clarity and uniformity and complete the relevant slip assessment before floor use.
Remove oil, scale, dust and moisture, including at edges and joints. Stir without dilution, apply a uniform thin layer and avoid pooling. The source application sequence specifies wiping residual surface material after about 30 minutes and protecting the area during a 24-hour cure. Cool or humid conditions can extend curing.

Frequently asked questions
Does water beading prove that a floor is slip resistant?
No. Evaluate slip performance separately under the intended wet or dry conditions and relevant test method.
When can the surface return to use?
Protect the surface during curing. Return to service after the coating has cured and the required appearance and performance checks are complete.
Should I add water before applying?
No. The coating is ready to use and should be applied without dilution.
Can the floor reopen as soon as water beads?
No. Complete the curing period, appearance inspection and any required slip-performance checks first.
