Selection & application guide
What to Send with a Coating Enquiry or Sample Request
A clear enquiry connects the product to the surface, process and quantity. You can request a quotation and a free sample through the same form; select the sample option and include the application details.
The surface and the job
Name the substrate and existing finish. Explain what the coating must do: temporary protection, corrosion resistance, water repellency, decoration or another defined function. Photos of the component and the problem area help show shape, access and surface condition.
Application and service conditions
State the application method, drying or curing capability, exposure temperature and expected contact with water, chemicals or cleaning agents. For removable films, include the protection period and removal method. For specialised uses, attach or describe the relevant performance and documentation requirements in your follow-up email.
Quantity and packaging
Include the approximate area or component count, expected trial quantity and repeat-order estimate. Many bulk coatings start at approximately 50 kg, but minimum quantities vary by product and packaging. Aerosol and small-volume products use their own order arrangements. Ask sales about a flexible starting quantity if the first order is smaller.
Samples and delivery
Samples are free and the customer pays freight. Include the destination country, city and postal code for the freight discussion. Share the intended trial process so the sample is relevant to the project.
OEM and timing
If OEM is required, include the product, pack format, label needs and estimated quantity. The usual order lead time is 10–20 days after details are confirmed; transit is additional. Product options and delivery arrangements are agreed in the quotation and order.
A short message you can adapt
Product or coating task: temporary protection for a finished component.
Substrate and finish: describe the material and existing paint or surface treatment.
Application: state the available brush, spray, dipping or other process and drying space.
Service: give exposure duration, temperature, water or chemicals, packing contact and removal needs.
Quantity and destination: provide trial area or component count, expected order quantity, country, city and postal code.
Sample: state whether a free sample is requested and the conditions the trial will check.
Replace the example task with the actual requirement. A photograph showing the whole component and a closer view of the critical surface is often useful.
Details that differ by product family
Family | Especially useful information |
|---|---|
Peelable | Original finish, protection period, packing contact and removal method |
Anti-corrosion | Medium, concentration, temperature, exposure mode and complete system |
Hydrophobic | Substrate, required function, curing capability, cleaning and test method |
Specialty | Water-entry route, decorative reference, heat cycle or device requirements, according to the product |
A product name helps identify the starting point; these details help decide whether it fits the job.
Keep sample supply and the trial separate
Samples are free and freight is paid by the customer. Agree the destination and shipping arrangement, then run the sample on representative material. Record preparation, application, cure, exposure and the observed result. A small demonstration is useful for narrowing a choice, while the final purchasing decision should reflect the conditions the product must meet in use.
Move from a trial to a clear order
After the sample review, confirm grade or product name, colour, pack size, quantity, label or OEM requirements and delivery details. Keep any required documentation and inspection criteria with the order discussion. The usual order lead time is 10–20 days after details are confirmed; transit is additional. Many bulk products start around 50 kg, while aerosols and small-volume treatments use their own arrangements and flexible starting quantities can be discussed.
