Choose the grade around its role in the assembly
4200EB is a peelable blue protective coating for defined electronic assembly operations, including LCD-related LCM, COG, COF, TAB and TCP work. CY440 is a separate peelable blue or black coating for insulating and moisture-protection applications. Select the exact grade and colour before planning dispensing, cure and rework. Packaging that looks similar does not establish equivalent chemistry or processing time.
Compare the available formats and cure information
4200EB is supplied in 150 ml and 1,000 ml formats. Its listed curing references are six hours at 25°C or one hour at 60°C, with a 12-month shelf life. CY440 is supplied in 50 ml, 500 ml and 1,000 ml formats and cures naturally as a single-component material. Its selected label gives a six-month shelf life. Do not transfer the 4200EB time-and-temperature schedule to CY440.
Define the coating boundary precisely
Mark contacts, connectors, optical regions, test points and other areas that must remain uncoated. Apply the selected material consistently within that boundary and check for flow into gaps. Include component temperature limits when choosing a cure route. Inspect the cured coating before handling and use a representative assembly for the full protection and removal trial.
Plan for inspection and rework
The sample should show whether the coating can be removed without damaging the part or leaving fragments in sensitive areas. Include the actual exposure period and any cleaning or thermal operation. Describe the assembly, original materials, dispensing method and rework stage with the enquiry. Keep grade, pack size and storage period consistent between the approved sample and repeat orders.
