Heat-Resistant Peelable Protective Coatings

Heat-Resistant Peelable Paint Masking Coating

A liquid masking coating that forms a removable film over surfaces outside the intended paint area. It is suited to evaluating temporary masking on shaped parts and larger surfaces where film placement is labour-intensive.

Surfaces & applications

Paint overspray masking, temporary protection during finishing and compatible glass, metal or coated components.

Liquid masking for complex boundaries

The product forms a temporary barrier over surfaces that must remain outside the paint application. It can follow irregular structures and edge details, reducing the amount of cutting and fitting associated with conventional sheet masking. It is useful where the protected shape is complex, but the coating boundary must still be defined around holes, contact surfaces and parts that require an uncoated finish.

Match the masking layer to the paint process

The coating is described for paint masking, heat-related work and selected welding-adjacent protection. These duties have different exposures. For spray painting, include the paint chemistry, solvent contact, overspray level, oven cycle and the stage at which masking is removed. A short initial setting time does not establish readiness for every solvent or heating process.

Application formats and timing

Room-temperature spray, flow coating, roller, brush, dipping and printing are described application methods. The material is stated to begin forming within approximately 5–30 seconds under the described process. Allow the film to reach the handling and process condition required for the job before painting over or next to it. Check corners and edges where material may gather or remain thin.

Pack selection for repeated work

The listed packs are 5 kg and 20 kg. Smaller production trials can establish practical consumption and film removal before selecting the routine pail size. Include the number of components, protected area and application equipment with the order so the quantity discussion reflects the work rather than the container size alone.

Application process

Protection through the complete cycle

  1. 01

    Define the masking boundary

Identify the surfaces to protect and all areas that must stay free of coating.

  2. 02

    Prepare the substrate

Remove contamination and check the original finish.

  3. 03

    Apply the film

Use the chosen application method for continuous coverage over contours and edges.

  4. 04

    Verify process readiness

Check film condition before the exact paint, solvent and heat cycle used in production.

  5. 05

    Remove at the correct stage

Peel the masking layer and inspect the protected surface and paint boundary.

Prepare the surface and define the masking boundary. Apply a continuous film and allow the coating to form before painting. Evaluate it with the exact paint, solvent and cure cycle used in production. Remove the masking film at the agreed stage and inspect both the boundary and protected surface.

Practical answers

Frequently asked questions

Can it be used through a heated paint process?

Selection depends on the actual oven cycle, coating chemistry and film thickness. Include the full temperature and time profile in the enquiry.

Can the same trial cover a different topcoat?

A different solvent or cure process can change the result. Assess the complete paint system used on the job.

Does the 5–30 second figure mean full curing?

No. It describes initial film formation. Readiness for handling, solvent contact or heating depends on the applied film and process.

Which pack sizes are listed?

5 kg and 20 kg pails are listed for this product.

What should a masking trial include?

Use the actual substrate, paint, solvent exposure, drying or baking cycle, masking boundary and removal stage.
